Description :Canyoning (known as canyoneering in the U.S.) is traveling in canyons walking, scrambling, climbing, abseiling (rapelling in U.S.), jumping waterfalls and swimming. No experience canyoning, climbing, or abseiling needed. You need to be able to do the rest without assistance :)
Please state when you register if you have some experience canyoning or abseiling. There will be a more strict limit on how many people with no experience.
The estimated cost of this activity is 60CHF (50 Euro) Including equipment and transportation ).
I will confirm activity, cost and RDV time (possibly 9:30 am) ASAP.
Canyoning, VF and more… FULL DAY packed with adventures in France
The plan: Sunday July 15th. Morning: 10:30 - 14:00. Via Ferrata du Mont. Afternoon: 14:30-17:30. Canyoning. Evening: 19-20. Laser Tag + drink/meal to share experiences.
Ferrata du Mont (Near Morzine, France) This vía ferrata overlooking the gorges of Tines has two sections. One is easy the other one medium. Therefore is suitable for anyone with a minimum of fitness who does not suffer from severe vertigo, even without experience. To do this activity you will need to have (bought or rented) a VF kit (ask any sport shop). Please remember that I am NOT a mountain guide a nanny or a guardian angel. I'm not spiderman either. Nobody else in the group including myself can be held responsible for anything you do under any circumstances.
More info about this VF here: http://www.viaferrata.org/france/c3f57sixtfercheval_E.htm http://www.laviaferrata.net/topo-via-ferrata-mont.html It is possible to do the Canyoning and not the VF. You can do some hiking and or picnic while we do the VF. If tha is your case you need to write it down in the form, so I know you ‘re not in VF. Canyoning (known as canyoneering in the U.S.) is traveling in canyons walking, scrambling, climbing, abseiling (rapelling in U.S.), jumping waterfalls and swimming. And LOADS OF FUN!!
No experience canyoning, climbing, or abseiling needed. You need to be able to do the rest without assistance :)
The cost of this event is 50 Euros… if there are 8, 9 or 10 of us no more, no less. You need to bring swimming costume, shoes (sandals or flip-flops NOT allowed. I would recommend hard old trainers. Bring another pair of footwear) and gloves (optional. Personally, I am not bringing any). You need to have your VF equipment which you can rent from Hefties, near base of cable car or SkiSet, on the way 100m before, to the left. Tell them you will be back late on Sunday and that you will need to return equipment on Monday. If you tell them I sent you there (Alvaro, from LAS) they should charge you only one day (I think 28 CHF). We will meet at 8:10 am in the cafeteria. Come earlier if you like to have more time for breakfast. By 8:30 we have to be driving.
Please remember to bring you VF Kit (if you are doing the VF), water, food, swimming costume, proper shoes and strong willingness to have one of the best days of your life!!
Please bring 50EUROS cash, as I will need to collect them in the morning (you can withdraw euros in Switzerland). You will need your passport and extra money in euros if you want to buy drinks and/or food in France.
Check this blog for Updated Info (weather forecast, etc.)
We will meet at: 8:30 Leysin (Only group 1) (Other groups, please check with your drivers) 8:50 Aigle (Small station "AL Depot" (Groups 1&2) 10:15 Morzine. Exact Address: 23 Taille de mas du plenty. Wait outside Hotel "Les Airelles". This address is very easy to find online, in the centre of Morzine, near tourist info. WE ALL MEET THERE. PLEASE REMEMBER THE 50EURO CASH I will be collecting the 50E per person per groups 1,2 and 3 If for whatever reason YOU decide not to come at this time, I will expect you to pay the 50E anyway as we don't get a refund.
11:00 parking des Tines, in thé middle of thé gorgeous Gorges of Tines, between Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval, there is a sign "Via Ferrata" on the Right hand side.
14:30 Telepherique de Nyon parking (it's 5 minute drive (2.5k?) from Morzine centre) so if you are not doing VF you can either visit Morzine and walk there or come with us to the VF area. Our guides will take us to CANYON NYON :)

Group2: Antonio, Alberto +
Group 3: Tom, Jessica, Marcelina, Magdalena

Please note that we will have no professional guides to do the VF. Many of us in the group are quite experts in VF but we are not responsible for you.
Please note that the weather forecast for Sunday is not great. Some people might decide not to do the VF last minute and that is ok. There is NO REASON TO CANCEL CANYONING. We are going to get wet anyway :)
Looking forward to having fun with you,
Alvaro Looking forward to having fun with you,
Alvaro PS Drivers: In the unlikely event that you had a problem or you are more than 2 minutes. Please sms me your ETA or (if you can) call me between 8 and 9 am on Sunday. Thank you.
A little update on the trip for tomorrow. The weather forecast includes a few drops of water during the day as predicted earlier. This is NOT a problem for canyoning, as we were going to get wet anyway (full wetsuit provided), but it might be a problem for the VF.
I am going to bring my VF equipment, but I understand that if you rent one and we cannot use it is a waste. There is going to be an alternative: a little hike, possibly around the gorgeous Gorges of Tines. So I let you choose weather you want to do VF or hike. No need to let me know now. RDV's are exactly the same.
Fun starts in less than 24h. If for whatever reason you decide not to come, I expect you to have the decency to contact your driver and pay your 50E unless you can find someone else to pay it for you.
Please BE ON TIME. Or even better: be earlier. You should wait for the group, not the other way round. That way we all have more fun!
You do NOT need to read the rest of the message. It's just a confirmation with minor changes that affect only a few people.
We will meet at: 8:30 Leysin (Only group 1) (Other groups, please check with your drivers) 8:50 Aigle (Small train station "AL Depot" Not the main station of Aigle) (Groups 1&2) 10:15 Morzine.
